I would agree with some of those. I also would like to add Simpsons, Married with Children, Futurama, and many of the Adult Swim cartoons.

i know, i'm not happy about it either.

Nico,

If you do a search you will find that there are several threads pertaining to "not getting Radiohead" or "Radiohead is overrated", go clutter up one of those threads. This is a tour thread used for the sole purpose of jacking off to live audio and making out with set lists that they compile each night they play. So, back to the tour guys, oh wait...

Is it August 22nd yet ?

When the Hollywood Bowl sells out, is it totally sold out or will they release tickets sporadically like what's been happening at other venues ? I ask because my friend from Alaska has been thinking he might try and make the journey down south after OSL for another RH show. I know there are lawn tix available for Chula, but that is wicked far. So whatabout the HW Bowl ?

suprefan
05-13-2008, 11:21 PM
There was already a ticket release 4 days after regular sale, tickets popped up, you missed em. If it happens, it happens. If not, well, show up to the venue with your negotiating hat on and start wheeling and dealing.

saying creed is my fav. band, and jumping on the give Jesse(sushov) a hard time bandwagon.

What dude, you wont answer the question, grow some balls and answer.

Yeah that's what I thought.

I am basically just trying to anticipate his wants after he sees RH for his first time at OSL, cuz I know that he will be all gung ho for seeing them again before he's on his way back to the AK. I don't think its worth driving to LA w/o tix in hand, especially w/ RHs draw 'round there. I will just keep checking TM periodically.

I will keep my eyes peeled and have a talk with my friend, he did just resign on with the Coast Guard and received a nice fat bonus, so maybe we will make the journey south with fingers crossed and cash at the ready.

Supre I when I wrote that I don't think Radiohead is the biggest band in the world, it was more because I just believe saying "that (insert band name) is the biggest band in the world" is a little bit much. I'm not trying to cop out or anything.

Where there is a will, there is a way. I had to tell a few of my buddies the same thing, to just go do it, cause this might be their only chance...

sushov, Im asking who you think is in your eyes right now the best, thats it. this is a message board, and its all opinion. Its a bit much for any person on here to say whoever they think, cause we could argue to no end because of it.

Sushov23

I don't know honestly who I think the best is right now. I just know I love Radiohead, RHCP, Foo Fighters, My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, MUSE, Kings Of Leon, The White Stripes, Wilco and the list goes on and on and on and yeah you get it.

If I remember correctly, during one of the nights at the Berkeley Greek someone called out for this song and Thom responded by saying that they would do it if they could get an orchestra to do it with them. You can hear this interplay on the recording from the show.

They get a couple of hours every show to fiddle around, its not as long as you think when you finish a song, then talk to sound people and the crew to do this or that, it just adds up. Myxo was partial and The Kinks thing was only the riff I guess. A lil bit more than halfway through now, show starts at 8:30 cst..

I think this structure will be long gone by US part deux...

And as for the closers and openers and general setlist placement of certain songs, it's all on purpose. It definitely means something. Nothing is accidental. Look at the lights. Yeah, it's a different setup this year but the songs have the same colored lights as in previous tours.

FUCKING SWEET! I hope all the setlists from now on contain 25 songs. That's just three less than Bonnaroo and that Salamanca gig where Thom took requests, right?

I cannot imagine Paranoid Android as a closer. Oh man. If they had closed with that in Tampa I totally would have knocked down security and rushed the stage for it.

there are at least 6 contenders from the In Rainbows sessions that were worked on heavily in the studio process that were never pulled out... Some of them may be pretty close to fruition... Who knows... They have more tour rehearsels after this leg, maybe some new shit will get added.

the only ones I really wanted to hear from IR:

15 Step
Bodysnatchers
Videotape
Arpeggi
House of Cards
Nude
Down is the New Up
4 Minute Warning (this song is downright brilliant imo)

In Bristow, they played all of Disc 1, along with Bangers N Mash. I was pretty happy with it.

true. how about this:

i saw dave matthews on the lawn there last summer, and it wasnt all that bad. i mean, you are really far away, but it still sounded alright. it was louder than i was expecting it to be up there. you will still probably be able to have a good view of their light show from up there, you just wont be able to see the details of the band members, except maybe on the big screens. its not the optimal way to see a show, but if its between that and not going, id get the lawn seats. but if i were you id try to buy some real seats from a scalper in the parking lot.

Thanks everybody, we are seeing Radiohead at Outside Lands, so we will have already seen Radiohead up close, this is just an attempt to do another show on some sort of, insert evil word here, budget.

What I am mostly concerned about is the sound quality, which the consensus seems to have decided is fair/good.

When I saw Radiohead at the Shoreline in '03 I totally snoozed on the tix and saw the show from the lawn and my friends and I still had a grand ole time.

sorry to hate, but that setlist sucks.

I don't really care for any of these setlists, to be quite honest. Is In Rainbows really that omgamazing that they need to play all 10 cuts from it every night (plus some of the bonus tracks)? (A: No, it's not)

I enjoy hearing any Radiohead song live that I haven't heard them play so the entirety of In Rainbows + Bangers & Mash was welcome.

I doubt they'll play all of In Rainbows both nights of APW so that should allow for two amazing setlists.

I think it should be split between two consecutive nights that are nearby, with a couple songs overlapped (maybe nude, arpeggi, all i need)...

Are you only going 1 night to APW?

We bought tickets for Friday because Underworld -> Radiohead was far too powerful to resist. We were going to find something else to do that Saturday but after that Radiohead show last night, I'm thinking it may be stupid of me not to go Saturday since we'll be in New York all week. This trip is getting more and more expensive.

Ah don't worry about the cost...I am just hoping that Sunday doesn't get good...then it will start getting ugly in terms of finances..

I'm not too worried about that..it's a long way from good right now ($90 good anyway). Adding Robyn, or whoever is rumored, isn't going to cut it:)

Yeah. How about this:
6 songs from IR played every single night: All I Need, Nude, Reckoner, Arpeggi, 15 Step, Bodysnatchers
1-2 of the following IR songs every single night: Jigsaw, Videotape, House of Cards, Faust Arp (mixing it up night to night)
1-2 of the following bonus disc songs each night: DITNU, Bangers & Mash, Go Slowly, Last Flowers, etc (mixing it up night to night)

everyone has their favs from In Rainbows. For me House of Cards is a must, as is Video Tape, so what to do? Them playing the whole album is awesome, and they have every right to do that.

Yes In Rainbows is a good album, but definitely not their best. They need to start switching it up more because in Houston they opened with 15 Step and Bodysnatchers and I guess they have been playing them so much they just blew right through them.

It was kind of a bummer since they are two of my favorites from the new album and it would have been nice to hear them with a little more intensity. That, and they fact that they didn't play Paranoid Android where my only two crticisms. Beyond that, the show was epic. No words can really describe it, but they all looked like the were having a blast and so did I. Half of the show I was seriously just standing there in awe. Especially Thom on You and Whose Army? It felt like his eyes were piercing into my soul.... and it was awesome.

Im in Phoenix, its 105, Im glad Im not outside....

This weekend ruled, shows kicked major ass, stop hating that it looked weak on paper. If you werent there, dont complain. They had such a killer performance of their songs last night, Thom ran around, jumped up and down and the band just enjoyed themselves immensely. Drug dealers, Bums, Crack heads, Hookers, Hilarious fast food service clerks, midnight driving through Texas highways, that was only yesterday..... More to come........

The set list is a tad misleading, Sunday's show in Dallas was fucking intense from a performance standpoint, much more than Saturday's in Houston.

Although I heard a ton about Austin (I hope to go there very soon), Houston and Dallas have got to be strong competitors for the "armpits" of the United States. Sweet christ I hate Texas.

On a side note, it was a pleasure meeting both BlackSwan and Orbit. Oh and Jared, for your sake, I pray they play Climbing Up the Walls in Vancouver and/or Seattle. That song is of extremely epic proportions live.

Ahhhh really? How was Dallas "fucking intense" compared to Houston? SHIT! What did I miss (besides them closing with Paranoid Android, I KNEW THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!)? You and Whose Army? was really cool in Houston tho, the whole Thom eye thing was really intense.

I have to concur, Houston was god-aweful. There is a really nice part near Rice University (went to a really good restaurant around there), but besides that, especially the areas surrounding the city, it's horrible. On a positive note though The Woodlands is a great venue and it was very good to finally meet you too.

Sunday @ Dallas = Fucking ape shit from start to finish.

You know when people say they are "In the zone"? Well, they were Michael fucking Jordan in Dallas. From start to finish they were just completely on point and along with the fantastic crowd it was easily one of the better Radiohead shows I have been to in a long time. They were really into every single song as well as the crowd, they definitely did not just "get through" any of the tracks, which they have done before, Houston on Saturday is a good example of that.

Which other ones do you think they just got through? I haven't seen them enough to really judge it that well... 15 Step and Bodysnatchers seemed like that, but I didn't really notice it in any of the others.
