did anyone else see the new Futurama yet?

I must say I am a little disapointed in what they have made of one of my favorite tv shows.

a whole lot of cameos (imagine every futurama character ever... except that guy who is my avatar) and a lot of references to old jokes, and a lot of mediocre new jokes. :-(

although I did enjoy the hypnotoad episode in the extras. looking forward to watching the futurama math lecture tomorrow.

what did other people think?

I wasn't disappointed. They've got to get back into the swing of things with old jokes and I guess the cameos are there to get people to watch it - just advertising, really. I'm sure it'll pick up. The writers are too good to let it slip, I have faith!!

This is a actually the first of 4 straight to DVD futurama movies coming out.

They are eventually going to chop them up and show them as episodes on Comedy Centry.

Let's hope it catches on and they pick the series up again. :)

As seen in Geek Monthly!

I thought it was OK. The plot was pretty wacky and complicated with all the time travel stuff. I especially liked the nods to previous episodes. It seemed a bit too long though and some of the jokes fell flat but, nevertheless, it was good to see the crew back in action. I'll probably watch it again tonight with the commentary. Did you actually watch the whole hypnotoad episode? I had to turn it off after a couple minutes.

I can't believe there's actually a magazine called geek monthly.

I watched the whole hypnotoad episode on fast forward. I'm quite entertained. in an indirect sort of manner.

Not exactly. They're just gonna chop up the movies into 22 minute episodes.

"My only regret.....is my bone-itis."

"The sandwhich heavy portofolio wins again!.........Oh no I'm ruined!"

I'm sure when they start writing actual episodes it will get better.

I am just gonna quote these in reverse... jeesh, there's only like 5 posts above your questions. You could have read them to clear up things that are only a mystery to you.

questions and statements:

"I thought everyone was talking about a new season. Thats comming soon, right?"

already stated answer:

anyway, I agree with a prior post that the time travel was super convoluted, but i am just glad its back. They have three more movies to get the groove back...

I got a "solid gold" plastic comic con exclusive funco Bender bobble this year. I did my part to keep the flame alive ;-)

Bender: [yelling] Your best is an idiot!

I actually really liked this, it was better than The Simpsons Movie even. I'm glad they maintained the emotional component that characterizes the best episodes.

Disappointing. Some of the jokes were funny but most fell flat.
