I would like to attend this. Hopefully I'll be able to.

downingthief

It's a winebar in Scottsdale, Amy. It was mentioned in Dave's Wine thread.

amyzzz

Thank you. That explains it. I don't drink wine, so I have absolutely no reason to read that thread.

IN!!

Yeah! So that's four so far (me, Rick, you and the mrs.)

WTF is that?

It's a really nice wine bar in old town Scottsdale. Very dark, with candles and couches. It's laid back.

So 5 so far?

captncrzy

Yeah if I ever decide to go there again......

If you decide to drive 5.5 hours to sit in a wine bar with us, you're welcome to come. Just don't stay in the 'hood again.

If by being there, I have to drink some sort of alcoholic beverage, then I'm out. If I can buy a Coke, I'm in.

I'll be in town at the end of this month.
If anyone wants to meet up for lunch or something.

captncrzy
11-13-2007, 12:03 PM
What will you be doing out here? What days?

Out-of-towners, get out of the Phoenix thread unless you're going to visit us. :P

captncrzy
11-13-2007, 01:58 PM
Yeah!

So, what's the best night? I'm thinking a Saturday. I was thinking after work happy hour style-but I know some of us work evenings or want to go home after work (like myself).

mountmccabe
11-13-2007, 02:38 PM
I would be interested in meeting up at Kaz. Neither this Saturday (17th) nor the following Saturday (24th) will work for me, though.

I have not been there but it sounds like a good spot.

My wife will be working at a conference, so I get to ride along on her company.
My friend is also moving to the area in January, so he'll be in town apartment hunting.

Any apartment suggestions for him?

I'll be in town the Wed. after Thanksgiving and leaving that Saturday.

mountmccabe
11-13-2007, 03:33 PM
What part of town is your friend looking for? I am not sure I could comment on many specific apartment complexes but finding a good, fitting location is pretty important.

I have a short lunch break but I finish work by 4 pm each day; depending on what time you are free I would be happy to meet you somewhere for drinks and/or general hanging out.

TomAz

I'd definitley be up for lunch dave. lunch is better than after work for me.

I work late during the week, so a Saturday would be best for me.

Thats not even the hood, still though. Hoover Dam = highlight of AZ.(that and the Grand Canyon I am sure) Just sayin....... I did the drive to L.A. from PHX in 5 thank you very much.

I probably only have the early afternoon free.
I'm not yet sure where he is looking but it is definitely more of the Phoenix area rather than Scottsdale.

Unfortunately...

I can do lunch too, but I refuse to watch you and Tom swordfight.

My favorite part of "Phoenix" (rather than a suburb) is either in the Arcadia district or in the Central corridor area.

I was thinking either December 7 or December 14.

mountmccabe
11-13-2007, 07:56 PM
My age is incrementing on December 7 so I am working on other plans, actually. December 14th might could be good.

Though after looking over that menu I really wanna go soon and repeatedly.

mountmccabe
11-13-2007, 07:58 PM
Also this is getting confusing what with the discussing of Lunch With Ragingdave When He Visits Phoenix and Various Boardmembers Go To Kaz all going on in the same thread.

mountmccabe

I am not asking for a netsplit, really. I just like idle complaining.

My buddy is one one the bartenders at Kazbar. It's a pretty cool little place.

amyzzz
11-14-2007, 03:17 AM
I can't do Dec 14th because that is the beginning of Bjork weekend. Dec 7th late might be OK (that's a Friday). The following Saturday (Dec 8th) is bad because of family obligations.

captncrzy
11-14-2007, 06:27 AM
Crap, if we're doing a sat. then I gave wrong dates.

December 8 or December 15. Sounds like Dec 8 is bad for Amy. I can do either. I think Rick can do either.

Or, we could just pick a random day during the week, like Monday the 17th.

amyzzz
11-14-2007, 06:53 AM
Maybe a random day would be better. I didn't realize how many busy Saturdays I have next month.

TomAz

Though after looking over that menu I really wanna go soon and repeatedly.

it's run by the people who also run Cowboy Ciao (http://www.cowboyciao.com/) and Sea Saw (http://www.seasaw.net/), right next door and which are really cool places to eat.

downingthief
11-14-2007, 07:22 AM
As far as I can tell, either the 8th or the 15th are wide open for me.

I'm not that big of a fan of Sea Saw, personally. Cowboy Ciao has some of the most interesting food in town, though. Very unique.

Geez I dropped the ball; I'm going to call it:

Saturday, December 15 @ 6:00 PM (I figured early is best in case y'all have other plans)

Not sure that one is entirely dead. Just much harder to coordinate, since reservations are so far out.

Dammit Amy. Ah well, you don't like the wine anyway. Crap.

Yeah, I figured Biancos would just be too difficult. I was thinking a early Saturday evening coctail hour would be better.
