I fuckin hope so! Jamiroquai would light shit up like no one else. I seriously love Jamiroquai so much. Even if, somehow, the rest of the line up sucked... I would go JUST for Jamiroquai.

I check Asobi Seksu's myspace everyday for some sort of clue. And I google news search every day for "coachella 2008", too.

just email and ask. explain your high fandom and how you'd like to make the trip to see them, but you have to plan your travels early because it's quite expensive.

Oh, I already tried that a couple weeks ago. Never got a response. I also asked in the same message if their albums would ever be released on vinyl. It's weird how the kork agency doesn't list them on their site.

Nigel Godrich is on atease...I wonder if he knows anything about Radiohead tour dates in the good ol USA.

Allergic reactions differ from person to person. Some just get a stuffy nose, some break out into hives and others can't fucking breathe. Forgetting to take pills or dealing with refills is kind of a bullshit excuse, but keep in mind that if they have to take medication to deal with your pet, they basically have to pay a monthly fee so you can keep your pet. Plus, what if they don't like pets? Now THAT would be annoying.

I don't think it would be fair to have to drug yourself daily. Plus, those drugs can be dangerous and don't always work.

less than 1 month until the lineup is announced...shit should be getting exciting soon.

It has been a general plan since my first Coachella year (05) to plan ahead the moment I get all of my syllabi for the Spring semester.

I had always been the biggest procrastinator before. I think Coachella has been the x-factor that has prepared me to be a great graduate school student.

In regards to confirmations, I'm still waiting for the Saul Williams slip (he has to be close to a given.

The Verve
VHS or Beta
The Breeders
Portishead
Dredg
Dwight Yoakum
Heidi Vogel w/ Cinematic Orchestra
Kid Sister
Turbonegro
Death Cab for Cutie
Autolux
Austin TV
Rabbit in the Moon
Simian Mobile Disco (playing in SF the same weekend)
Cut Copy (playing in SF the same weekend)

kreutz2112
12-26-2007, 06:15 PM
so how is turbonegro still on this list?

suprefan
12-26-2007, 06:21 PM
Because their record label couldve gotten a slap on the wrist by Goldenvoice due to ''announcing'' way early and had to say they werent playing.

kreutz2112
12-26-2007, 07:16 PM
so shouldn't prodigy be on there also?

betao
12-26-2007, 07:26 PM
well, they were officially debunked by the record label. They straight up came out and said "The Prodigy are NOT playing coachella."

They never said anything about Turbonegro, they just took his name down. He is still likely at this point.

but seriously, how do you accidentally post that a huge band is playing a music festival...

kreutz2112
12-26-2007, 07:37 PM
right.

TickleMeElmo
12-26-2007, 07:46 PM
but seriously, how do you accidentally post that a huge band is playing a music festival...

In case they were playing in 2009, not 2008. I know that seems far off but from what I recall someone here on this board said that Erol Alkan was accidentally listed on 2007's lineup because he was ACTUALLY booked for 2008 instead but there was a mix-up. So if that's true, I could imagine that The Prodigy was mistakenly posted for 2008, especially since from whatever forum it was said that their manager said they're not playing but looking forward to Coachella 2009.

betao
12-26-2007, 07:50 PM
Meh... I guess thats possible, but yeah, it does seem a little far fetched.

TickleMeElmo
12-26-2007, 07:51 PM
Actually, I'd rather be wrong and have them be there next year. Oh yeah.

betao
12-26-2007, 07:54 PM
Hell man, Prodigy is one of my favorite groups... I would love to see them on the bill. They would be a high factor in getting me to take the 3000 mile trip to coachella.

paulb
12-27-2007, 01:17 AM
The Verve sure as fuck aint confirmed yet, why are they even on that list? Yes, its looking likely. But comon.

Prodigy have to be there. Ive said the same thing about the record label, how the hell do you just accidentaly put one of your biggest artists names under the category of Upcoming Shows and write Coachella right next to it.

summerkid
12-27-2007, 01:52 AM

I am so over MIA. I also think that if you will include turbonegro, than prodigy must be on the list. It was not a year mix up to put down two bands together. It also probably wasnt GV who slapped wrists but the label themselves. My guess is someone was updating the site and forgot to omit coachella, it being a secret.

This is true, but many artists have dropped Coachella off their myspace page, presumably because Goldenvoice doesn't want the lineup out yet.

Westy

Alot of people were upset about Chromeo not adding a 2nd show in LA
decided to msg them on myspace
there response...

"Hey there...

So the deal is we can't do a second show in LA because of a radius clause attached to a festival we'll be performing at in Cali a couple of months later (hint hint)... "

I haven't seen this confirmation on any of the other threads. Its from Sons and Daughters mailing list emailed this morning:

<info@sonsanddaughtersloveyou.com>

welcome to 2008 everybody!

we've all had a lovely xmas break round this way hope you
all have too.

right, so now it's january we are back with gusto! the new
single 'DARLING' is out on the 14th of january with a pile
of b-sides including weird rocker 'RIBBONS', the jape
remix of 'DARLING' and a live 'iggy' version of 'JOHNNY
CASH' the way we've been playing it on the last tour!

don't know about you folks but our new years resolution
this year is to put out an album! and for once it looks
like we might actually keep a resolution because 'THIS
GIFT' is out on the 28th of january! not long now! god, we
finished the record in july so it feels like we've been
pregnant for the last 5 or 6 months and we're finally
having a shiny, healthy record-baby. hope you all enjoy
it. for those that like vinyl the lp version is going to
be in an extra special gold mirror sleeve that is going to
rook us 'blue monday' style but we thought it was too
pretty to not do it...

we're also touring our arses off very shortly. starting
off with a few fopp instores for the single launch:

monday 14th january is glasgow
tuesday 15th is london
wednesday 16th is manchester

then we are off and around the u.k and the rest of europe,
texas for sxsw, coachella festival and american dates! for
more info check the lovely graham's tourdates posts on the
forum or have a gander at the new look myspace page that
has had a thoroughly glamourous new look given to it
(thanks graham!)

ALSO! the website and forum are going to get a much needed
overhaul very shortly. for those of you that have tried to
register as users recently but haven't been able to don't
worry it's all going to change soon!

be well!

Yeah, I got pretty close rather easily. But I still couldn't see shit since everyone shoved up there once she came out, so I couldn't maneuver around all the idiots with their cameras lifted over their heads THE ENTIRE TIME. Why film a concert with a shitty camera when it's being webcast? Idiots. So after about half an hour I gave up and moved to the back of the crowd, fell on the ground, and watched the screens and sky.

I don't think it should matter how many of the band's songs you know. I hadn't heard a single Hot Chip track but I had such a blast watching them, and loved "Over and Over" and "And I Was a Boy From School" so much that I went and bought The Warning.

I was looking forward to CSS because the friend who tipped me off to Hot Chip was raving about them as well but I was too tired after Soulwax to stay for more than a song.

Idiots. So after about half an hour I gave up and moved to the back of the crowd, fell on the ground, and watched the screens and sky.

it was much worst in 2002....

I stopped wearing earplugs like... 2 years ago. They just got annoying. I take cotton with me when I go to concerts sometimes, and I know I had some on me at Coach, I just remember not feeling well at CSS because the bass was just rocking right through me. Anyway, I'm not severely pissed off or anything at missing CSS, but I think if I had taken one more break or something I wouldn't have felt that bad. Actually, I think that CSS was the only band I didn't see in full because I needed to take a break... Yeah.

Panda Bear is the alias used by experimental musician Noah Lennox of Animal Collective, Jane and Together. He plays drums during Animal Collective's live shows. He chose the name Panda Bear because he drew a picture of a panda on one of the first recordings he made. He is married and lives in Lisbon, Portugal with his wife and child, Nadja. He and Avey Tare are the only members who have contributed to every Animal Collective release.

Sometimes I like to listen to Ladies and Gentlemen... over and over again and think about how I will never make a record that good.

Islands probably not going to be there.

03-19 Lawrence, KS - Off Broadway
04-29 Los Angeles, CA - Henry Fonda Theater
04-30 San Francisco, CA - Bimbo's 365 Club

We are getting more anti-confirmations than we are confirmations.

Seriously, I've been noticing that. Who knows what coachella is going to do at this point.

Maybe, they are allowing bands to play in the L.A. area because they know it is going to sell out. It will sell out because they got Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, MBV, Talking Heads, Portishead and Boards of Canada. I hope so.

Edit: Except, I think Goldenvoice would not care if a band played in LA after the fest. If I was a band I would not want to play the fest and then play LA two days after.

Man I really hope that's the case, cause up till now I don't see one reason to shit my pants over the line up.

I don't understand what makes you think this rules them out. If anything i see it as conformation that they will be in the area. My guess is they play a Friday set.

I am not talking about other states, just LA, two days after the fest. If I lived in LA and saw Islands play at coachella I would not go see them two days after the festival.

Yea but they are not a band that tends to play a lot of shows in the LA area. So just because they are playing coachella does not mean they will miss out on playing LA, especially considering not all music fans go to coachella. I think its a matter of band preference though because I cant see Goldenvoice putting limits on bands AFTER the festival. I could be wrong though

I agree with you about the band preference part. Also, I think music fans that are fans of bands such as Islands and that live in southern california are going to go to coachella. I just think ticket sales would suffer by at least 40%-50%.
