You know who would be sick? DragonForce. I don't listen to much metal, but I can actually tolerate (and enjoy) DragonForce.

OK... now to be honest.. I would never buy a Dragonforce album, nore go to their shows... hell I even laughed when I learned that this freaking WICKED guitar Player Herman Li who I was watching was in a band called freaking "Dragonforce" BUT! I gotta back this one, Coachella is about diversity and there has not been any opera metal there as of yet to my knowledge... and IF THEY WERE playing a festival show I was at, I would definately dig stoping by their stage... being that I wasn't shelling out money JUST to see their silly (but very talented) asses

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN. They destroy all other "metal bands" you think are worthy of Coachella.... DEP 2008, I'm starting to ask for them now.. Or to get Refused to reunite at some point.. That would rule...

Yeah Metal would be nice. The closest thing to metal I've seen at Coachella was The Locust. Hey maybe Helmet will come out and do "Army of Me" with Bjork. I'd shit myself if that happened.

Fantomas, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, and Thrice are all somewhat metal/heavier rock/other and have played. I'd be down for Meshuggah at Coachella! Isis and Dragonforce would be chill like lunchtime bands at Coachella for sure.

A heavier band that played Coachella in 2005 that I like is the Blood Brothers, but I do not consider them to be metal.

I second this. But not to say I disrespect metal, I have my share of metal in my pod.. but Coachella has always sort of been the place for indie rock, rap and djs to shine and it's been awesome thusfar. Of course you always have the mainstream headliners, but that's mostly to keep up the cashflow. The first Coachella Festival made almost no profit and they almost didn't do another one. The only thing that saved them was that Jane's Addiction agreed to get back together and play Coachella. Since then it's been great. They shouldn't mess with a good thing.

Plus I think that style of music might take away from the whole tranquility of the event, the feeling of a music summercamp.

Maybe Guns and Roses would play Coachella, which would be an example of metal at that festival. I would skip it, but I bet a lot of people would watch it, at least for curiosity sake.

KEN.
WHAT THE FUCK.
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO BUMP THIS THREAD?!
a) this thread has nothing to do with guns 'n' roses
b) guns 'n' roses doesn't exist anymore. hasn't for years. anyone who thinks otherwise is a fucking retard.
c) CHUT THE PUCK UP!

kroqken
11-18-2008, 07:33 PM
The band is called "Guns and Roses" and they are now back with an album that I would classify as metal. Smashing Pumpkins only now has two original members, but they still go by Smashing Pumpkins.

Ken, what is your deal with bumping old threads? This is what the tenth time you did that today?

kroqken
11-18-2008, 08:14 PM
I only bump threads I want to talk about. However, I am trying to moderate it and not cause "Johnny Rotten" style anarchy on here. I think many of the threads I bumped were interesting to revive. It is more educational than watching the DVD of Bumb Fights.

I do not know if System of a Down fits with Coachella, but I guess it borderline may. If Rage can play there, than I guess so can System.
