I've just been told that Coachella will be cancelled if you do not vote for El Rey. This is really important.

of the venues listed, I like the El Rey the best.

In my top 3 venues for LA, it goes Troubadour, El Rey, Echo.

Never been to the Smell or the Viper Room, and Spaceland falls at #4 just because I've not been enough.

How have you never been to the El Rey? Seriously, LA People, they have some of the best shows that come around. Don't make no sense.

I'm voting for El Rey. I've never been to any of the venues, but I am the proud owner of an autograph of an El Rey employee on El Rey stationery.

Everything I've ever wanted to attend there, I've either not been able to get tickets or was out of town or at another show that day. Or too poor. Well, I did have tickets for a show there, but ended up going to that secret Coldplay gig at the troubadour instead. And I had a Metric ticket waiting at will-call but wasn't in town. That was in the good old days when you could buy tix on the site's official page for much cheaper than ticketmaster.

I don't want to hijack Tessa's El Rey thread, but both of these sound like great opportunities and interesting experiences. Feel free to share any stories over in the Misc. Thread.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Tessa thread. Vote for El Rey, bitches.

i like the El Rey. I think i've only been twice. The rapture show was great there. Great venue for dancey type acts. I voted for em. Those other choices were pretty lame. Random ass coffee houses, blah

Wiltern is near and dear to my hear though.

sooo yea officially the venue does have the best lighting in the city.

what i hate about the venue is the fact that:

1) that security lady at the will call line thinks her job is far more important than a commander in chief's.

2) the security guards never stop telling you to move on when you stop on the aisles. give me a fuckin break. one of my foot is out of line and the other is in! jesus!

but yea, still, def the best venue in la.

I finally saw Transformers tonight and I saw The Orpheum in the background several times. Awesomeness.

Sure was a quick drive from Hoover Dam to Downtown LA, yes?

tessalasset

goddammit lickey, if your foot is in that aisle there is NO WAY the crowd is going to be able to get around you in the event of a fire. they are all doomed to be stuck and die a firey death, all because of your damn foot in the aisle.
