I swear I want to kill these people. I flipped out when I saw that this morning, thinking that they had somehow struck a deal with Radiohead and were streaming the album or something. In between page loads, I thought "why the fuck would Radiohead let NME stream their album? Of all sites?" They call it a sneak peek of the album, THIS IS NOT NEWS THOSE VIDEOS ARE OVER A YEAR OLD. Please, tell me you're at least sort of pissed about this, and I'm not that crazy.

why is there a 9 on the cover?

This is the same guy who made the fake Coachella 2008 poster. He is a master of photoshoping.
That is why there is a 9 on the cover.

Isn't there some trippy Beatles song in which some guy says "number 9" over and over?

I'll change it since it's causing too much confusion.

Breathe, people. This collective orgasmic explosion of excitement is beginning to resemble the kind of hero worship I'd expect from the Bay City Fuckin' Rollers' fans.

I thought hipsters were meant to be cool and all...

I was listening to NPR on the way home last night and they seem to have a hard on over it too. That somehow Radiohead is leading the revolution on screwing the "man".

You know why this is new/different?

Every other band that did it in the past wasn't going to sell millions of copies of their album.

That's a lot of money out of the recording industry's pocket.

was Prince really going to sell that many albums?

he's popular for sure, but definitely doesn't have an album as anticipated as this

Prince?

Prince new albums barely sell anymore...he makes a killing on his back catalog....

So does Radiohead. Live shows too, same as Prince. Radiohead just gives you the option to buy the digital download.

Edit: Has there been any interviews as to why Radiohead is releasing it in this format?

Prince does sneaky things to help his new albums sell though like i think it was the 3121 tour where you had to buy the cd to see him live and the cd prices were built into the ticket prices so that album sold very well.

I dunno, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm guessing Prince's fan base is bigger than Radiohead's.

Prince's record was released on Universal Records.

As far as I know, Radiohead hasn't contracted this album to any record label.

Holy shit I am... when did that happen? Oh well. Supre just hit 7000. So you should be congratulating (and/or mocking) him.

Prince is more popular than Radiohead, meaning more people know of him and his music, but I think Radiohead's fan base is stronger.
