If Arcade Fire is not #1 on your list the years they played, then you are wrong. Most likely souless too. Like Hitler.

Dude, how was Stephen Marley that bad? He played like 5 Bob Marley songs live, and that's really all you can ask of him...

orbit
09-30-2007, 12:38 PM
He wasn't that bad, but I liked the other acts more.

PassiveTheory
09-30-2007, 12:40 PM
Alright, that's understandable.

I tried making that distinction with my post...

I arrived at the outdoor theater when Stephen Marley was scheduled to be finished, but he kept going...for at least 20 minutes! Despite being freaked out/pissed over the possibility of getting a shorter Jarvis set, I enjoyed it. Did he just start late or did he just play a really long set?

PassiveTheory
09-30-2007, 10:15 PM
He played a really long set.

Actually, I should have ranked him over Peaches or Hot Chip. I liked his set more than the Lolla and ACL ones.

Jarvis Cocker seems to be way up there for a lot of people, which is hard for me to understand. I've only been to '07 but it goes something like

2007
Arcade Fire
RATM
Regina Spektor
Explosions in the Sky
Manu Chao

and I'm a fucking idiot for missing Justice

The reason it's hard for you to understand is answered by your last statement.

I know, I really regret missing Justice, but they conflicted with Blonde Redhead AND Arcade Fire. It would've taken 15 minutes to get to the dance tent from main at that point. Too bad they didn't close out the Sahara instead of that shit band The Rapture.

I actually skipped out on the majority of AF's set to see Justice and I wish I'd done it the other way around.

Justice was great and all, but Arcade Fire's so grand and epic and once in a lifetime - whereas I feel Justice can do that same show I saw again.

That and there's rumors on the internets that AF won't tour for a few years. And the friend of mine that did stay at AF later ran into Win and Regine by the food stands.

My greatest regret of that day however, is taking as many drugs as I did.

I had to start walking backwards during "Rebellion" and had to hear "No Cars Go" from the second stage because I had to be up front for Blonde Redhead. Bummer because those two are so explosive live. Oh well, I was so far back during their set I couldn't see, anyway. But they sounded so EPIC.

Gogol Bordello
Rage Against The Machine
Rodrigo y Gabriela
Roky Erickson
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Peeping Tom

Those were my favs.

My biggest regret was missing the Avett Brothers. My second biggest regret was missing Justice.

Well, if you've already seen Arcade Fire five times and can't see shit because of the crowd, anyway, it's okay to only hear but not see one song. It was worth it to be able to watch Kazu dance around so hypnotically.

E

you know what, asshole?

comparing anyone who doesn't like the arcade fire to a nazi is just asinine, and not even funny.
go fuck yourself, delta. if you can find your cornhole in the folds of your ass. seriously.
if I ever see you, I am going to rip off your ears piece by piece and puncture your eardrums with rusted nails.

who the fuck do you think you are?

do you think the arcade fire wants their fans equating people who don't care for them to perpetrators of genocide?

let me re-iterate:

go fuck yourself.

the whole arcade fire saved music thing was douchebaggery. the signature is arrogance beyond belief. your scalping bullshit fiasco was laughable. and you are a worthless pile of shit. understand me? worthless. go die.
I passed you off as another overzealous fanboy, but you know what, you fucking troll? when you bring genocide into arguments about a GOD DAMN ROCK BAND, you cross a fucking line.
you are scum, and I hope for both of our sakes that we never ever cross paths.
for you, it will mean the worst day of your life.
that's not a threat, not a promise, just an inescapable fact. an eventuality caused by your thoughtlessness.
if you and I ever meet, you will be sorry you crawled out of whatever died to make your soulless ass.
