Please post at least a brief description in this "watch this youtube video" thread. Some of them take a long time to get to any point I can understand and I don't know whether or not I would have wanted to bother in the first place.

to keep answering my own questions, it's out november 5th.

more info from the official website for those who want it. I'll post the first two paragraphs here. if you don't want to read the whole thing, follow the link (http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/media/press/heima.php).

heima / hvarf-heim (september 2007)

'heima' and 'hvarf-heim' film and album release: 5th november 2007

sigur rós break their two-year silence to release their first-ever film and a companion album later this autumn. filmed over two weeks last summer when the band undertook a free tour of iceland, 'heima' stands as a colossal labour of love - not to say grand folly - typical of this most exacting of bands.

while most people set up a few cameras at, say, a festival, and call it a dvd, sigur rós decided they would push the boat (bus and plane) out for their debut venture into live film, hauling 40-plus people round 15 locations to the furthest flung corners of their homeland to create something, well, inspirational...

Anyone went to the shows?

Here, NPR talks about an interview they got with Sigur Ros.

When Good Interviews Go Bad

Let's establish one thing right out of the gate: We love the band Sigur Ros.

Their music is beautiful and moving, so much so that it doesn't matter that they're singing in a totally made-up language. Sigur Ros is four lads from Iceland, and recently, they were in New York to screen a new concert film Heima at the New Yorker Festival. Their P.R. folks called and asked if we wanted them on the show, to which we quickly replied, "hells yeah".

Anyway, last Friday the band showed up promptly at 11am (EDT) and commenced to give what is possibly the worst interview in the history of electronic media.

Seriously.

It was that bad.

We're not sure if they were tired, or if it was a language thing, or what... but wow.

Whereas most shows would just bury an interview like that, we've decided to actually show it to you. It certainly made us laugh. We hope you'll enjoy it too.

And to repeat, we love this band. We are going to be the first people to buy their new album "Hvarf / Heima" when it comes out this November. And the concert documentary is beautiful -- please go see it if it comes to your town.

Just never invite them on your radio show.

Those interview questions are awful. And while the band wasn't very responsive the interviewer doesn't seem to have any familiarity with the band and keeps asking the same types of unanswerable but leading questions.

Honestly, how does that guy think he's going to get good answers out of those questions?

I still can't imagine how an acoustic sigur ros performance would sound. it's not enticing.

I would like to see Sigur Ros acoustic. I love their power and I love their near-ambient effects but I think their songs are strong enough to stand up without all that.
