So Alex from Arctic Monkeys eventually turned down my interview request - oh well, it's bound to happen from time to time. After all I'm nobody really.

The good news is 2 days later we got Bloc Party, and Kele is about the nicest person in rock (and not just because he likes my photos), I did a quickie interview with him and took some pics of him and Russell before the soundcheck.

check it all here.

Also have the past interviews with Fratellis and Interpol, and a new review or two, in the music section, if you haven't seen those...

Happy Thursday.

He's extremely nice, as nice as Russell is shy.

Funny story. They played Los Angeles a while back. Years back. Before they played the El Rey. I think it was the Troubadour. I went with some friends, and we talked to him for like an hour before the show.

To Russell? I guess he could loosen up later in the day (it was early for them, and by early, I mean noon-ish)

No fuckface, I was like 14. You know just because you were probably some little ****** sucking cock at the age of 14, doesn't mean I was.

Nope, I meant Kele sorry.

He's all over it like his mouth on a fat man's cock.

Where is that LC Pavillion?

It was formerly Promowest - it's located downtown, across the street from Nationwide arena. it can do both indoor (2,200) and outdoor (4,500) shows. Bloc Party was inside, in two weeks Arcade Fire and LCD are outside. (scroll down in second tm link)

fickle, for how many hours you spend on the net, you aren't very good at this, so ill give you a few pointers. telling somebody they suck cock isnt very witty or original. thats so jr. high. oh wait, nevermind, i guess you are right on track.

oh, and if you are going to talk shit twice in one post, at least mix it up a bit. one cock sucking joke alone is pretty stale, but 2 in a row is just pathetic. if you diversify your shit talking, it will make it more effective.

Hate the game, not the player.

Bloc Party is gay. That's why they are so nice.

Which makes fickle's homophobic comments in defense of his love for Bloc Party kind of... dumb.

Thanks, I wasn't given much time, but hey an interview is an interview. Plus I have some killer pics (that I took last year) that Kele and Russell signed for me.

See below (the pic is from the 2006 Intonation Fest in Chicago)

Yeah - to be honest - I wasn't expecting to "love" this last show, but my God, they were great. Much better than I could have imagined, and I'm a grizzled old concert veteran.

This was my 4th Bloc Party show and by far the best yet. By the time they pulled out This Modern Love, everything continued to peak the rest of the night. The crowd got more inot it the longer it went, so much so we got 2 additional songs, including a 3rd encore of Pioneers (which they haven't played all tour).

Here's the setlist I grabbed.
