has anyone else listened to emma pollock's album yet? I'm quite impressed. I found a review that sums it up nicely by saying "what it sounds like most of all is a talented artist reveling in her independence".

I like the fact that she made the fake lineup. I hope she's on the real one come february. I may have to miss Fog to go see her in san francisco in november. (damn conflicts...)

I loved the Delgados. If she was opening for the New Pornographers in Tucson I would def go.

I'ven't heard the new album yet, though.

I'm feeling it. It's straightforward and poignant and effective and lovely. They be some good songs and I can't directly link her voice or the sound to another band or anything (didn't listen to Delgados) but there's something comfortingly familiar about it. It tickles a very particular part of my brain.
