I had to get a refund from Ticketmaster for the Pet Shop Boys concert which was cancelled. You must do it well before the concert date, and use the customer service email at the Ticketmaster site. They will respond by saying it is not officially cancelled. Reply back that yes it is....until they give you a refund (but they keep the processing charge). DON'T wait for them to contact you - once the concert date passes, it's too late.

I'm not saying that. Here's the policy http://www.ticketmaster.com/h/cancelled.html

Read it closely - it says Ticketmaster SHOULD do this & that. Don't trust that Ticketmaster will volunteer your money back. Be pro-active.

In the case of the Pet Shop Boys, the Hollywood Bowl specifically added the refunds must be requested before the event was to be held. So look to see if the venue has any additional restrictions.

how can they tell the difference, if i just went up to the outlet and said i bought this here and whatnot? would they look it up and realize i got it online and make me get a refund through that?

JustSteve
09-12-2007, 10:32 AM
that's my guess, that's the whole "return to point of purchase". so if you bought it online that is your point of purchase. i'm sure they look up the order number and can tell where they were purchased. i have gotten a couple refunds through ticketmaster without any warning for cancelled shows, so it may just be an automated system. i'm sure they wouldn't risk giving you a double refund. may be worth a shot, though, maybe tm will get screwed for once.

Also, anybody who really believes that the White Stripes are cancelling their fall tour due to Meg White's sudden "anxiety disorder" are likely deluding themselves. The Raconteurs? Necessary side project. I would be willing to bet that this has been going on for quite some time now, whatever it is.

She's tired. She needs to get away from Jack and be her own person. Write poetry. Start a family. I don't know what drugs, if any, are involved here (cocaine) or if she's suffering from any other kind of mental disorder (bulimia), but I know that she looks like she's been ready to burst into tears for the last couple of years or so. She looks exhausted. She looks run down. She looks like she's sad inside. And it makes me sad. So please do not make fun of Meg White, if you can help it. Today is September 12th. Thank you.

"The White Stripes have canceled all remaining tour dates through the end of the year, this includes all dates in the UK this Fall. They thank you for your understanding and well wishes.

Fans can obtain refunds for their tickets at point of purchase, except for Austin City Limits Festival which is nonrefundable due to it being a festival. If you purchased your tickets for any of the canceled shows via a fan pre-sale on the band’s web site, please email tix@musictoday.com for refunds."

also, just got this email from musictoday:

"Dear Fan,

We have been informed by the promoter that the remainder of the White Stripes
tour has been cancelled.

Your credit card will be given a credit for the face value of the tickets as per
the cancelled/ postponed show refund policy stated in the online user agreement
. Please allow up to 7 business days for the transaction to appear on your

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at

I figure if you people bitched to Jack White enough he would go out and find some other random drummer who has the last name White (or, if it REALLY matters to you, give some random bimbo the drum sticks and the stag name of "Ho White") and continue the tour on his own.

Anyway, it takes someone like Brendon Benson to make Jack White bearable in the first place...

I'm pretty sure that you suck at liking all of those bands. BoC is goddamn boring anyway, Portishead is a band everyone should be shot if they don't like, and Arcade Fire is just indie enough for you to still put your seal of shitty approval on, but just wait until they start getting played on the radio 'cause then comes Passive with opinions no one could possibly give less of a fuck about! And... Last time I checked, Arcade Fire gets played on the one SD station I listen to, and they hardly qualify as indie anymore. BoC is good sleep music, and I agree with your point on Portishead.

Also, yeah I'm still fat, losing weight is a process not a miracle.

Don't worry, you will get your money back from Ticketmaster. I have had this happen many times. You just need to send the tickets back with a letter explaining what happened and why you are requesting a refund. Then you get your money back. You have to check the website or talk to a ticketmaster customer service to get the name and address to send it to. I don't know it off the top of my head. Also, ticketmaster accepts certified mail that requires a signature. I highly recommend this so you have proof that it arrived and this only costs an extra buck or 2. Oh yeah and keep a copy of the tickets!

Musicology already emailed me (I bought mine through the fan club) that I would be getting a refund to my credit card. Their email address is posted on the news of the White Stripes Website if you don't get the email saying you will be refunded the money. Just email them and they will resolve it fast.

I hope this helps!

I know that she looks like she's been ready to burst into tears for the last couple of years or so.
Meh. She has pretty much always looked like that. I don't think that's anything new.

Point taken, Keriann. Still some might claim that there's a fine line between stage (staged) persona and spousal abuse. Or ex-spousal abuse, as the case may be.

I don't think she wants to do it anymore. All I'm saying.

Yeah, it's probably their fans here (or everywhere) who bought tickets for their gigs that might suffer acute anxiety. Their doc should declare gigs season-ending torn ACL already. ;)

Okay, overheard now that they finally just cancelled their UK tour dates.

Wait... are you saying this might mean the White Stripes are calling it quits for good?

If they did, that will make me SO glad I went to their show in June.

Well, I'm glad my kids saw them once before Meg broke down. I was hoping they'd get to see them again and actually remember it.

I thought the sex tape was fake though? Well... if the tape is real, then Meg is definately not any closer to getting over her anxiety.
