I was sitting at home on Sunday evening listening to our local radio station KJEE in Santa Barbara when I hear a familiar song start to play. I check the set list on-line from the Friday night Radiohead show I attended at the Greek in LA back in June 2006 and sure enough, it is one of thier new songs titled 'Videotape' being aired on the station's weekly "New Noise" show. Couldn't believe it. The DJ said it was probably illegal, but what the heck. I'm not going to search around for any leaks of the new album, but good job guys. Can't wait to hear the finished product. The quality of the song aired on the radio was pretty bad, but I was excited nonetheless. Anyone else heard new songs on being aired on their local stations?

was it full band like the way they did it live? or just thom on piano like the basement recording?

it was like the way they did it live. it started with just Thom on piano, then built with the rest of the band coming in.

Before we go further, check atease for legitimacy. If they are not going crazy about this and have the song to download this is probably just them playing a bootleg version of it from a live show.

It's possible considering they're done recording.

They'll never release the fucking thing.

And the longer they make us wait, the more people will hate it. Even if it's amazing, people will be like "we waited five years for THAT? OK Computer came out 2 years after The Bends! Even Kid A was only 2.5 years after OKC!"

prodigy released AONO 7 years after Fat of the Land, and it was...ok.

Suprefan is probably right, it was a pretty grainy version and could have easily been a live bootleg. It definitely was not a fully mastered version. But the DJ spinning it said that she heard an interview where Johnny confirmed they are completely done with the album. They don't strike me as the type to shop it around to labels, so who knows? I was just excited to hear it on the radio. Immediately after I heard it I checked Dead Air Space and Green Plastic and there haven't been updates on either site for weeks. Usually if a band member comes out and says they are completely done mastering an album, Green Plastic would have some post on it.

They are done with it, whatever label they are on wanted time to ''market'' the album thus pushing the release back to 2008.

Those 2 1/2 years felt like FOREVER. I can wait, no biggie Tool fans and NIN fans waited for those albums for over 5 years so this can be put on a long waiting list too. At least they did the tour last year, if that hadnt happend everyone would be very pissed right now.

Putting out quality material can get a bit difficult when you've already turned out 3 or 4 of the top 20 albums of your generation. Cut 'em some slack. They're fucking Radiohead.

the problem is that this album will be compared to their best work (OK Comp, Kid A), so it either has to live up to those expectations, or its a disappointment.

ever wonder if you could go back in time and change the order in which an artist's albums were made? going from worst to best?

i myself am really looking forward to the new album. im in love with videotape and down is the new up.

Dude, it was a bootleg. No biggie, if anything hits the net it will go through atease first.
