Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have canceled the remainder of their North American tour, citing exhaustion. They will not be playing at ACL Fest nor at their sold-out Antone’s aftershow Sept. 15.
ACL producers C3 Presents have not yet determined a replacement for either slot.
The news was posted on their Web site Friday afternoon and confirmed by their publicist.

** Rodrigo y Gabriela unable to make final leg of US September tour**
Gabriela is suffering from exhaustion after a hectic summer/fall tour schedule and is left with no choice but to cancel the remaining shows in September. Advice from Doctors is to take a few weeks off to relax so she can build up her strength. Gabriela's high energy performances means that she has to be in top physical health to perform to the levels people expect and that she enjoys. Gabriela will be taking a month off to get back in shape for the October tour.
The affected gigs are:
September
7 The Marquee, Phoenix, AZ
8 Realto, Tucson, AZ
12 Canes, San Diego, CA
13 The Grove, Annaheim, CA
15 Antones, Austin, TX
16 Austin City Limits, Austin, TX
"I am gutted that I have to take a break from touring. I was really looking forward to these dates but if it means we can do what we've got planned for the rest of the year then I need to take the time off. I want to apologize to our fans, and I hope that everyone understands. We will be back on the road next month." Gabriela
