The smashing Pumpkins are not SP anymore. its more like Corgan and his 3 bandmates using the SP name, to give Corgan some popularity for his big ass head. OH and an excuse to put out the shittiest CD of the year thus far using the SP name.

jimmy has always been a phenomenal drummer. listen to some of their bsides. he does some crazy jungle drumming here and there. the guys probably one of my favorite out there. but yeah, daft wins in this case. gimme james and darcy, then we'll talk.

Yeah since Jimmy Chamberlain's just another one of those 3 bandmates... Right...

the original SP was the same thing....corgan and 3 bandmates. you obviously don't know much about SP. even at the peak of their popularity, corgan would record 90% of the instruments himself (except for drums). everyone else was just for show.

if it was 10 years ago, it'd be a harder choice.

Daft Punk for now.

It can't be a "so called reunion tour" when NO ONE in the band is calling it a reunion.

Also,
Jimmy wasn't in the band 96- 98. So it wasn't the Pumpkins then?
D'arcy wasn't in the band 99-00. So it wasn't the Pumpkins then, either?
Pu-lease.

3/4 Pumpkins both times so it wasn't as bad...
and both left because of drug issues at the time and SP never officially disbanded...why the filth are your going to have a farewell show to come back as 2/4 SP later on?

you people need to realize that SP is like NIN, in that Corgan = SP just like Reznor = NIN. It's always been that way.

Wrong.
Trent Reznor started off recording material all on his own... then eventualy got a band together. It was always Trents band.
Smashing Pumpkins started out as a band. As if, 4 people working to create music. Years into their career Billy assumed creative control over the entire band. Then it became Billys band. It wasnt always that way.

ehhh they cowrote a few songs on each record. but it was always billy who wrote the substantial amount of every album.
