I can't stand the use of "soldiers leaving for war". The slow motion hugs, the waving flag, etc.

Used in all country music videos, Green Day, 3 doors down, Nickleback and Avril Lavigne just to name a few. Horrid.

Wheres the beef?

I cant really say I watch music videos enough to point to anything that would be "used the most" let alone "hate the most".

anything where things start moving slow....loads of the hip hop videos use it to show off the girls "assets". It is just annoying now...

The only kinds of videos I dislike are the ones where the band lip-syncs, and also the ones where the bands don't lip-sync.

Yeah, and he does the whole "Why, I'm so cool I'm not even going to acknowledge this woman's breasts on my head." and looks straight into the camera. Especially annoying when he's in like... an armchair. He won't even stand up to get his face breasted, that's just rude.

Sorry. This is probably a better example.

Ha...that's the first thing that popped into my head as well. Though I'm not a huge fan of this song or video.

it's been many years since i've seen one, but i've always hated this. unless it's a really awesome live performance, what's the point?

I think Bloc Party's Hunting For Witches kind of gets away with doing that purely because it ties in with the vibe of the song, but largely, yeah, I agree.

This is the correct answer actually. End of discussion.

In the days before the Internet , when I would hold my tape recorder up to the tv to record a song on mtv (or videotape it and only being able to listen/watch in my parents living room), the above R.E.M. video would have been just perfect. At the time, a show like '120 Minute' (with Dave Kendall, of course) was about the only place to hear 'alternative' music. And I just wanted to hear the songs, I didn't give a damn about the video....

Hey you know - I think I hate the hot girls (dependent on what's considered hot in the decade) to validate the "coolness" of the musician or validation of the music itself.

I think that's fair. I don't like being duped by hot women to think that the music I hear is bangin like what.
