too much choreography and too many backup dancers for me to watch. It just gets kind of ridiculous he's getting to the point where he's too good for that junk.

I am on the fence, I want to watch just to see but then it spoils it for the 16th so I dont know. I am going to DVR for sure though. This reminds me, I need to see if my nice clothes are good to go. September is creeping up fast! Dont forget to get there late, Good Charlotte is opening.

Wheres the beef?

this is true. I think it really has gone down hill. The first 3 or so were funny as hell. I usually find myself doing other things before the show is over.

Cause everyone has guilty pleasures(even you do) and we dont care if people hate on us or not. Besides, he has some good baby making tracks on his record so ya know........

He did get cred points a while ago for being a furry at a Flaming Lips show and played bass guitar on a song too.

The show was great-he's talented. The 16,000 screaming 14 year old girls was the big turnoff.

DirecTv is supposed to come today to upgrade my HD sat disc but I have to go out (not sure if I'll be back home on time for this) and I don't even have standard HBOs. But for sure the JT's fans will record and load them in youtube? I've never seen him live and not planning yet, and yeah that MSG show in the trailer, looks like it is very commercial and full of annoying screaming fans but JT has music talent & I love gigs with great production, stage & lighting designs. I also want to see how his show vs. the one I've seen @ MSG few weeks ago.

There are lot gayer threads in this board than this. I heard indie music (and most hipsters) and posting in message boards are so gay too. lol

I really enjoyed the special. I am tempted to pay the money to see the show in person, but I don't know. Anyway, while I'm not huge on over-the-top presentation, I thought the show was well done. He is certainly very talented and a great performer.

bballarl
09-03-2007, 10:11 PM
At the end, Bittersweet Symphony plays and he goes around the crowd and stuff. And while semi-unrelated, I cannot wait to hear that song live. With the reunited Verve. Preferably at sunset in a certain Polo Field with a bunch of other people. That would be perfect.

I watched the special, after having looked at a set list for JT's regular tour show. The broadcast set list was identical. I would not want to pay $$ & see the same exact show you can see it on HBO from 34 camera angles.

It reminded me so much of the Ricky Martin concert I saw in Puerto Rico a couple weeks ago. It is being made into a DVD. The stage, the dancers, the dancing, the many back-up dancers, the perfect choreography, etc. Come to think of it, Justin Timberlake is a white boy version of Ricky Martin.

His performance was just OK. The band carried him (love the drummer). I was expecting more. However Justin Timberlake>Arcade Fire.

I saw snippets of it while watching tv earlier. It was filmed great but why not in like 30mm style? Why does it have to look all ''HBO'' special? 2 weeks and I can give a review of this show. Glad I can take the subway though and not waste gas.

Not too crazy about the pre-performance interview either (ala Madonna). The stage looked brilliant but that constant red lighting took a tole on me. I loved the sound. It sounded like the staged was miked right in the middle of the band.

I'm on the board Tom because I love Coachella. I try to listen to all music. WTF Tom? Is it because he can dance better than you?

TomAz
09-04-2007, 01:22 PM
Lots of people can dance better than me. Almost everyone in the whole world can dance better than me.

No, it's because he's got a brain the size of a walnut shell and testicles the size of peanuts. Also, he's pap. Pap. got it? swill. milquetoast. banal.

fatbastard
09-04-2007, 01:30 PM
We might be a tie at dancing Tom. I do a mean broken hip dance. I won't ask how you know they're peanut sized. It's you opinion Tom. I wasn't looking for the second coming but I was looking at being entertained. The tour was advertised in the theatre arts section of the Times a few weeks ago. This was a sign that he was shooting for a performance versus just a regular concert. Unfortunately, he didn't come through. Listen to a couple of his songs Tom. You may be the one to bring "sexy back".

Which Lucinda show should I attend? I have only heard her newest record and Gravel, and Gravel is sold out.

Lucinda William's Albums Ranked In Order

1. Car Wheels on a Gravel Road
2. Lucinda Williams
3. Sweet Old World
4. Happy Woman Blues
5. Essence
6. Ramblin'
7. World Without Tears

all 7 have merit. I have not heard West, her latest, except for the songs she did when I saw her a few months ago. It was a very quiet show.

obviously he cant be that dumb...he sure knows how to work his craft and is good at it. whether it be a dance song, or a slower song, hes got skills. definitely one of the better r&b artists of these days...tom you hate on HIM for whatever reasons but hes music is good. even you can admit that! his music isnt serious, hes not tryin to be gangster, or a teenie bopper. hes a humble, talented guy and i respect that. you dont have to hate eeeeeeeeverything mainstream to keep it "real" for the indie heads.
