No its not alot of onion, the shallots add a different flavor than the onion its more subtle imo.

No cilantro because the GF doesnt like it.

That's like making spaghetti for someone who doesn't like tomatoes, fuck'em, they gotta try something different.

I really don't like cilantro either. For me it's an oxymoron, it tastes like air, but it overwhelms whatever dish it goes in.

I know I'm not a very good Mexican.

Hey! Hey! Hey! You are preaching to choir here. I love cilantro. But I couldn't do that to her. I would never hear the end of it.

It's genetic whether or not you like cilantro. To some it tastes like soap. Those poor, unfortunate souls.

Poor unfortunate souls
In pain, in need
This one longing to be thinner
That one wants to get the girl
And do I help them?
Yes, indeed
Those poor unfortunate souls
So sad, so true
They come flocking to my cauldron
Crying, "Spells, Ursula, please!"
And I help them!
Yes I do.

Make some salsa for the party tomorrow. You can carry it in a tupperware to Beastie Boys and bring it as a midnight snack.

I don't have a recipe...I just make mine to taste. But, always go easy on the onion, always have cilantro, and always roast fresh jalopenos, and always use roma tomatoes.

I like the flavor you get when you roast the peppers.

Perhaps.

The recipe I posted isn't 100% the recipe I use all the time. I know what I posted would turn out, well, though. Some things just have to stay within the family, y'know?

I wish I could remember the name of this Mexican restaurant in San Diego. By far, the worst Mexican food I've had in my life.

Thats weird, my girlfriend hates cilantro too.

Which does everyone prefer? Chunky Sala? Or umm... non-chunky salsa?

I also only use roma tomatoes. Regarding cilantro, I pluck the leaves and use the leaves only. No stems.
