Does anyone download podcasts?
I m looking for some interesting podcasts. I never really had any interest in them until I listened to a few during a drive up to Maine a few weeks ago. (A Prairie Home Companion & The News from Lake Wobegon) I am looking for other interesting podcasts. These two were from this weekly podcast on iTunes that are free. I've downloaded a few and they're cool to listen to while driving.

So....yeah. Podcasts.

my favorite is the New Yorker cartoons video podcasts. But that's no good for driving. The Rick Steves podcasts are cool if you enjoy travel. The KEXP podcasts are great if you enjoy music.

I enjoy wine, so I listen to The 3 Wine guys.

They know their stuff and are pretty humorous.

I totally know about this sweet podcast that comes out every Monday. It's called the Mystery Mix. You can get it here (http://nowherenothin.blogspot.com).

Wait... what's that you say, Jeff? "that's YOUR podcast - you can't do that..." Well, all I have to say to that is PSHAW

The best podcast I've listened to is called: The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe.

It's got a panel of about 5 people, and they talk about news items (like recent UFO news, creationist activity and other stuff) and make fun of everything. It's funny and they always bring up very interesting news items. Plus there are also cool interviews.

I really, really, really like the NPR Live Concerts from All Songs Considered podcast. Recently they have put up shows with Spoon, the New Pornographers, Stars, Jose Gonzalez, Okkervil River and Animal Collective. It's good stuff.

these are hardly underground, but... I feel there would be more good music podcasts if not for the copyright/royalty issues....

Espn's P.T.I is actually better as a podcast than a tv show, as the discussion does not need pictures.

The stones throw records podcast does some neat stuff on occasion

washington post has a big budget and talented media department. their video podcast is often good

msnbc's countdown with K.O!

I have recently started to enjoy "the economist's" podcasts. it is possible to listen to the news and not get progressively stupider.

the new york times has been getting more content in video podcast format. in between wedding vows and two minute movie reviews, they will do something stimulating like a story on ecological damage in china with primary source accounts, or an uncut interview with pakistan's president.

Way to show potential employers that you're willing to do what it takes. I see a high-paying corporate job in your future.

I'm bumping this for more recommendations, preferably music ones. Especially useful would be 'best new music' type podcasts, either overall, or by genre.
