Ha...last year I was going to see Devo in Phoenix in October, but they cancelled. Right around Halloween, I found out they were playing Vegas in a few days, but wife couldn't get out of town for it.

We took her friend's nephew out trick-or-treating...it was in a neighborhood we would normally never go to. And here comes a guy in a full Devo suit walking down the street by himself. He smiles at us and tips his dome.

My wife said it was a sign and that I had to go without her. Best show I'd seen in ages.

My girlfriend's little brother just went out and bought 3 seasons of SG-1 today.

We laughed... and then continued to play Twilight Princess. She was stuck, so I had to get her out of the city in the sky. I helped her out and now we are in the twilight realm. At the end of that we have the fight Zant. After that we still have to make it through the Hyrule castle and beat Gannon(dorf). Oh, I love that series of games...

I still think of Devo as a 70s band.

I still think of Devo as a 70s band.

Well, I guess their two best albums were from the 70s. But they were an 80's icon, they peaked in popularity in the 80's and they were active pretty much straight through the decade.

Have you seen them recently? They go heavy on the 70's material. They play a few of the 80's hits, nothing newer than That's Good, and 10-12 songs off the first couple albums. Blockhead, Mongaloid, Smart Patrol, Jocko, Wiggly, Uncontrollable, Jonnie, Gut Feeling, a few more. Great show.

Wheres the beef?

Or you could go as an 80s stock broker. Two kinds:

The fast talking, cokehead trader who is on top of the world. You could print out some business cards and tell everyone about this great stock. Something funny like a company that was big in the 80's and ended up crashing hard later that everyone knows about (nothing comes to mind)

OR

The guy after the stock market crash. You could look all disheveled and talk about how you lost everything.

Yes,please!A friend of mine who has been into punk rock since there was punk rock saw them a few years ago at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano and said it was the most punk rock show he's ever seen.He said people were stage-diving,which at the Coach House is scary because it's all long mess-hall tables and chairs in front of the stage.

Drag queens are better dressed and have better makeup than Mimi.

Mimi's an easy costume-get a mumu off of ebay and some horrid blue eye shadow...instant laughs.
