I was just talking to a friend about the new DNTEL album and how it has guest spots in Conor Oberst and Jenny Lewis, and we started talking about the best collaborations possible, involving both musicians alive and dead.

So here are some of mine:

Alive -
* Muse ft. Beth Gibbons (hearing Matt and Beth sing a song together would be amazing)
* The Chemical Brothers ft. Wayne Coyne (I know they did an MTV Europe VMA award performance like half a decade ago, I'm sure it'd be badass)
* Cat Power ft. Feist
* Ben Folds ft. Amanda Palmer (two piano-playing virtuosos who have a thing for writing cynical lyrics? a match made in indie heaven, I say!)
* The Strokes ft. Amy Winehouse (okay, so I made this with the intention of grabbing as many drunken fools together as possible... But it'd still be tight, methinks)
* Daftwerk (Daft Punk and Kraftwerk) (Had to say it...)
* CSS ft. Peaches (they're make one hell of a dirty collab)
* Thom Yorke and Ryan Adams (my friend said this one)
* Junior Boys ft. Adam Levine (The only thing that could make them any more sultry smooth)

Dead -
* Jeff Buckley and Thom Yorke/Matt Bellamy/Imogen Heap
* Johnny Cash and Damien Rice

What would be your dream collab?
