it was pretty damn good, I was impressed. I wish they would play that one song from 28 days later though...

Just got back from Chicago and NYC. Whew! What a fucking weekend! Grrrrr.... in few hours I have to go back to work.

Easily one of the top three shows I've ever seen. It was that good.

The very best festival performance I've seen.

Michelle,

Last night (oh well, Monday night now to me) - MUSE is even more freaking spectacular at Madison Square Garden! The setlist is almost similar to Lolla's (if I am not mistaken in MSG we got everything they did in Lolla plus Hoodoo, City of Delusion <- best ever live version, Unintended <- with amazing crowd sing-along and surprisingly Soldier's Poem. Muse @ MSG is the best crowd among all Muse shows I've been to in the US. More on Muse at MSG later ...)

You meant Shrinking Universe? The soundtrack in trailer of 28 Weeks Later. I love that song - mesmerizingly beautiful song.

Just read that like JPiMC in other thread, lot of Muse LIVE 1st timers at Lollapalooza message board were blown away too. Muse will change their life and they will never go back. I'll suggest that they should buy the Hullabaloo soundtrack CD and listen intently to their B-sides (Shrinking Universe is one of them) - Muse is not just about being spectacular & so special LIVE.

I'll post pictures later (just got 'em loaded in my laptop - I will try to upload my very first Muse bootleg in youtube too - got the whole of Apocalypse Please @ MSG).

Did MSG sell out finally? It was almost on the brink of it, that had to be insane since its waaay bigger than the Forum.

It's pretty full but it's not sold out (almost). The White Stripes (who is even way more popular than Muse in US) also did'nt sell out their MSG (but they are pretty close) gig couple of weeks ago.

It's always so much fun seeing and talking to fellow diehard Muse fans in Muse solo gigs in the US. And so typical - strangers who got curious with long lines would ask us - "Who's playing?" then we would answer back FUCKING MUSE!!!!! "Muse who? Okay, hope you all have a great time!" Then once their gone ... we would just look at each other and laugh ... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... we don't really want Muse to be so popular like U2, Coldplay & co. ha ha ha

You know you do, but they wont get as cheesy as them. We'll see how it works out over here in September and October. You better be making plans for Vegoose, cause thats going to be nuts. who knows, maybe you run into the guys gambling at soem casino at 4am.

That wasn't the first Muse show for me, #3 actually. It was however, the best I've seen them.

First Muse show - 22nd November 2001, Edinburgh Corn Exchange - they closed the show with "Bliss" and I was hooked!

Wheres the beef?

This board has turned me onto Muse. I will catch them at Vegoorse as long as they dont conpete with DP

Muse wont compete with Daft Punk. My guess is either Muse will play before Daft Punk on the mainstage. Or close out one of the outdoor stages, before DP starts. However, staying for that entire Muse set, would mean giving up a good spot for Daft Punk. Goddamn do I hate conflicts!

those are some strong words...I will have to give you my answer come sept. 18th

orbit

Actually, they are not so strong words. Daft Punk need to start producing some new quality tracks, or at least change the track selection, especially that closing DJ Falcon's track.. It's so bad..

Hopefully they will get back to studio after this tour, and maybe they should start to get use of the reactable. That thing on their shows would be awesome and a big plus to the visual show.

Not that I didnt enjoy the show, but I couldn't agree more with Orbit.

And as cool as the finale/encore is, that "Together" sample is dreadful, and needs to be tossed.

Et Tu Bosco and Orbit?

I sense a DP mutiny now.

orbit
08-08-2007, 06:12 PM
It's not about mutiny at all. You all can see every set have the same tracks, and nobody can't deny the light show is amazing but musically the show gets boring after a while. Why is that most of you criticized Tiesto? Was not because he got so mainstream when all he did was produce weak tracks after their great hits? Well, don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing them two, and although I loved the DP shows, c'mon, they are Daft Punk, they need to bring something better than the same thing show after show.

I keep standing up with them starting to use the reactable when they get back to studio.

Is the reactable that thing they showed on the video screen instead of Bjork during her performance this year? That would be amazing!

And rage patton, first TeamCoachella with DF, now you with DO? It's DP, how hard can it be?!? :laughyou

Okay here's my 1st youtube video (be gentle - bring on the 1 star ratings ha ha) - Muse Sunburn @ Madison Square Garden.

0XoAR6TpgVk

My bad (sleepy earlier - actually I have whole of Sunburn, not Apocalypse Please). The audio surprisingly came out pretty good - I got carried away sometimes watching Matt and not really looking at the screen of my camera, so there's bit of shaking, out of focus and at one point my fingers covering lens --- who cares? It's still better than some vids out there heh heh.

I'll be also uploading incomplete Apocalypse Please @ MSG. I was not front row at Lolla so my bits of videos over there are not as good.

Muse was undoubetdly phenomenal & as much as I don't want to say it their light show was neck & neck with Daft Punk's.

supre,

I'll probably will go to Vegoose only if they are closing Saturday (with at least 1 1/2 hour set - MUSE and RATM back to back would be epic though since Matt would love that) AND if they would announce their own show in Vegas.

Were you at Wiltern Theater LA December 09 2004?

Who were in that show? It's the only MUSE US show that I wish I was there. The setlist is to die for - they did 2 shows at Wiltern but December 09 is more special because of fucking FURY.

December 08 Set list

1. Butterflies & Hurricanes
2. New Born
3. The Small Print
4. Sing for Absolution
5. Hysteria
6. Muscle Museum
7. Citizen Erased
8. Apocalypse Please
9. Micro Cuts
10. Thoughts of a Dying Atheist
11. Time is Running Out
12. Bliss (extended)
Encore
13. Ruled by Secrecy
14. Plug in Baby
15. Stockholm Syndrome

December 09 Set list

1. Hysteria
2. The Small Print
3. Bliss
4. Sing for Absolution
5. Thoughts of a Dying Atheist
6. Fury
7. Muscle Museum
8. Space Dementia
9. Ruled by Secrecy
10. Sunburn
11. Butterflies & Hurricanes
12. New Born
13. Time is Running Out
14. Plug in Baby
Encore:
15. Apocalypse Please
16. Stockholm Syndrome

Some of the NY major dailies and tabloids reported that the show is sold out @ MSG. The few seats vacant at very top section must be fans who did'nt make it or who went down in the pit/floor for extra tix.

If they become so popular like U2, I may never get the chance again to talk with them personally before or after any of their show.

Oh the guest trumpet player (Dan) during City of Delusion e-mailed me if I also recorded it @ MSG. Like some Muse fans who made similar requests, he loves my Sunburn video.

CoD, MOTP and Assassin are my 3 very favorites in BH&R. CoD @ MSG (not mine) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMzuo2hGaik

I went the 9th. I remember this cause I was asking some guy in line if cameras were fine the night before and he said yes.(no ticket stub cause the wiltern takes it when you get down to the pit and get a wristband, worst policy EVER) And yeah probably my fave of all the Muse performances, Soma and The Forum are better but for different reasons. Wiltern had what I wanted to hear(and fury) Soma was intense cause it was tiny as s**t and I left there covered in sweat. Forum wins on just sheer awesomeness. But yeah, the Wiltern show, man that was fun. Also one of the opening bands I really liked a lot, The Exit. They sound like the Police and at the end they had Chris Tskagas(from rx bandits) come out and do some extra drumming/percussion and I just flipped out.

Muscle Museum followed by Space Dementia was INSANE

The Forum is fantastic but definitely Musers/crowd at SF (in Graham Civic auditorium) is way better. But anyway, both shows are ... EPIC! (<- lol Have they fixed yet the roofs of those arenas? haha)

4 shows in Europe that I wish I was there:

Glasto '04
Reading '06
Earl's Court '04

and the one in Hullabaloo DVD in La Zenith Paris '01. (I guess plus all their '99 and '00 gigs in Europe)

Oh well, Muse at Woodstock '99! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that's where I met & found them.

I'll post some of my pics at Lolla this weekend (including Spoon, I'm From Barcelona ...).
