Sheffarole
http://www.johnvanderslice.com/graphics/1_spring%2004/will_okkervil.jpg

Happy birthday from the Sheffarole, certainly among the wiliest of all the pokemans. The Sheffarole hears trees fall in the forest when no one is around, the Sheffarole communicates with dolphins in their native language, the Sheffarole may or may not actually be of this century. Rumored to be at least two hundred years old, the Sheffarole may have actually been a pioneer of some sort. His presence alone in the Great Plains during the 1930's was rumored to have helped trigger the Dust Bowl Days. A malcontent, a raconteur, and former govenor of New Hampshire, the Sheffarole is an all-around nice guy and is currently seeking your vote for album of the year honors. It is a legitimate consideration, despite having perhaps the ugliest (http://www.jagjaguwar.com/onesheet.php?cat=JAG110) album cover that I've ever seen in my entire life. The Sheffarole and several of his cohorts are currently on tour through these fine United States of ours, so might I suggest that you check them out on your own and then make your decision accordingly. I have heard talk recently that it is well worth the price of admission.

Anyway, today, Kristen, on this day of days for you and yours, I hereby bequeath to you the Sheffarole and all of his accessories in celebration of your day of birth as well as a token of my undying esteem for you. The Sheffarole is quite the posable action figure, but I must warn you, DO NOT GET TOO ATTACHED. Boys like this will break your heart. Every single time. But happy birthday anyway. May the world continue to meet your needs as it sees fit. Amen sister. Amen.

PS It's pronounced Sheffaroll, by the way, not Sheffarolee. He is not an Italian-American stereotype (http://www.coolquiz.com/trivia/names/images/boyardee.gif) or anything. It would just look stupid for him to spell his name any other way. Word to the wise here.

Tonks' patronus is an otter. I think. Someone's is.

Anyways, Happy Birthday Kristen. I hope you're having a safe trip. Enjoy your country, sounds like you'll be seeing most of it. Are you going through Ohio?

This Wiggy is from Italy. All I can tell you for sure is that he seems to like Alan Iverson. I'm sure he'd wish you happy birthday, though. (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=2132862)

Happy Birthday Ewiggy!

Since you are coming to live in CA, if you love miniature horses and are ever in Solvang, the mini horse ranch (http://www.syv.com/qsminis/) in the Santa Ynez Valley is the most awesome place. It's open to the public, and unless you are in a large party, you're free to wander around no charge.

They are the cutest damn things ever.

solvang is ridiculous, kristen. miniature horses or no.

solvang is ridiculous

I do agree with that.

But the mini horses...ooohhh...too cute.

I am intrigued by Solvang. It sounds dangerous, and there are miniature horses evidently. It sounds almost too good to be true.

it's only dangerous if you're allergic to faux charm and danishes.

The way some threads go from "Happy Birthday" and then suddenly change to "Minature Horses" is one of the features that keeps me intrigued with this site!

D'oh I saw this Sunday and was googling but I think I got too hung up on finding a cake shaped like Bauhaus the building. That would've ruled.

Happy birthday anyway, Kristen.
