View Full Version : Worst Conflict

Wheres the beef?

What would be your worst conflict? And I mean lets be realistic here, you would ultimately have to choose between one. This could be something that really happened or something that you would just dread.

My worst conflict ever would have to be choosing between Daft Punk or Tool.

If Radiohead, Bjork or Sigur Ros were playing at the same time. I would die. Either combination would kill me..

I am grooving to Human After All and looking at pics from the Reds Rocks show and decided to add Daft Punk to my list here...too fucking epic...

Pulp vs Portishead

That would probably actually happen at ACL or Lollapalooza.

Oh, I know. I'm just saying the powers that be would be stupid enough to make them conflict if that impossibility ever happened.

Shuuuush...yer gonna jinx us.

Gogol would win, but only because I'm going to see Muse a month before. And because my wife doesn't like Muse.

But it better not come to that.

Some more:
Broken Social Scene vs Feist vs Metric (and since they obviously can't play together, no proper "7/4" or "Anthems"!)
Arcade Fire vs Muse (gotta love ACL)

But for me, if Asobi Seksu plays Coachella or any festival I attend, or does a gig in town the same night as another band I like, I'd have to pick them, unless the competition is some crazy rarity. So excluding reunions, Asobi Seksu vs Radiohead would pwn me.

Ha, it would suck to be any band conflicting with My Bloody Valentine, Portishead, Pulp, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Smiths, Talking Heads, Jesus and the 12 Apostles, and I guess any big reunion. Did anyone actually see any bands during the Pixies at Coachella 04?

The problem with Wilco was that their set finished 30 minutes before Bob Dylan starts his in the other side of the park. So I had to miss them to be able to get a good spot for Dylan.

This shows another trace of my musical blaspheming: I don't care too much for Bob Dylan. Immeasurably influential, but given the fact that most people I've talked to were turned off by his live show, and that I'm just not a huge fan, I would have seen Wilco in full. Still, I hope you had a blast.

Get Blonde on Blonde and watch yourself become a Bob Dylan fan in full.

Nightmare conflict for me would be Portishead vs. Velvet Underground. I'd probably swing towards VU because I'm counting on a Portishead tour, but if I had to miss a single second of either set, I'd go ballistic.
