Please do.

Mark Hollis is a genius, and I wish that he wasn't so slow about recording new material. I'm not a fan of the early Synth-y material, but once he decided to create his own style of music, he really flourished. Laughing Stock is just one of those albums. I mean, damn.

I really loved this album, haven't heard it in years. It was strange to hear ambient from them, and it taught me a lot about chillout. I'm ashamed to say I didn't follow them closely after, as I dove head first into the likes of Front 242 about the same time.
They were on shrooms for sure.

Talk Talk is one of my favorite all time bands. Mark Hollis is genius. For people new to Talk Talk I would recommend "The Colour Of Spring" For fans of "Spirit Of Eden" and "Laughing Stock" I would recommend Mark Hollis self titled solo album. Also check out Lee Harris and Paul Webb project O.Rang. And Paul Webb aka Rustin Man with Beth Gibbons is great too. Tim Friese Greene who had a big influence on the later Talk Talk albums went on the produce some great music like Catherine Wheel and now records as Heligoland. I would love to see Talk Talk live but I don't think Mark Hollis will ever go there. Too bad.

Hollis has stated that the later albums were unreplicable live, and this is why Talk Talk didn't tour for those albums, and are unlikely to play live again.

Tim Friese Greene however recently played keyboards for Rob Dickinson at the Viper Room. (Which is an odd twist, as he never played live with Talk Talk aside from teh Montreaux Jazz Fest appearance. )

Yes, I'd heard about that. I wish that tour came to Phoenix (even w/o Tim Friese-Greene).

Talk Talk collaborator/producer TIM FRIESE-GREENE has a new record out "10 Sketches For Piano Trio" I haven't heard it yet but it sounds interesting and has Talk Talk sound engineer Phil Brown on board. Might be the closes thing we get..
