I just got back from the grocery store. I don't know if these are new, but I have never seen them here before. Lu, that charming Belgian cookie maker, now has a line of chocolate covered digestives!

Granted, "Digestive" is a terrible name for a cookie, but these incredibly tasty cookies have been a staple of British tea time since the days of the blitz. You can find the British brands (McVitie's being the original) in any British grocery store, but this is the first time I've seen the Lu brand or seen any kind of digestive in 'regular' grocery store (Albertson's).

I haven't tasted a digestive in... years. I'm somewhat ashamed to admit that half the box is gone already. Good thing I went for a long run today.

Seriously, though, if you see these in the grocery store, put down the Chips a'Hoy and the Oreos. Spend an extra dollar or two on the Digestives instead. You'll thank me later.

I'm not really a fan of cookies in general, but developed a minor fixation on LU biscuits while in the UK. It was a harmless addiction, since they wouldn't be available when I got home... only a month after I returned, they started showing up at Walgreen's of all places. Fortunately I tired of them.

At any rate, these are tasty too:

Green tea.

There is a bar I go to sometimes that makes lychee martinis, which are basically just vodka with lychee juice and two skewered whole lychees thrown in. It wins.
