hahahahaha no wai!

Burning Man's customers keep coming back to Black Rock precisely because it's so far outside the scope of the corporate culture - and its incessant marketing - that most of them live with the other 51 weeks of the year.

It's just a fucking party. I like how all the participants think they're supporting the concept of socialism when they're on the other end of the spectrum with classical liberalism.

Bug, did you even fucking read the article? (actually there are a couple people in this thread who have no fucking clue what they're talking about).

This is old news. The "corporations" that are being talked about are only ones dealing with renewable energy and permaculture. There are no consumer product companies being invited. Everyone has known for a long time that BM's days are numbered. There are already a bunch of smaller festivals that will one day absorb the bulk of the scene. This is an attempt to use it's popularity while it's still viable to actually do something useful. You can laugh at it all you want while you stuff your face with big macs, but you're laughing years too late, einstein.

And Ben, wtf are you talking about? Nobody up there honestly thinks they're supporting the concept of socialism, even if that's their personal ideology. Everybody's on their own up there. Did burning man rape your grandmother or something? Lighten up. Some people have spent months working on ways to entertain each other for absolutely zero compansation. And nobody up there is going to be offended by your notion of it being "just a party". It's cool, everyone thinks they understand it perfectly before they've gone. It's quite a bit different than a buch of euro's rubbing their chests and clenching their teeth.

Once burning man goes down coachella will have to look somewhere else for your giant sculptures and robotic sunflowers and smurf villages and domes, etc. and everything else BMorg and it's participants have paid for.

Enjoy your jr. bacon cheesburgers.

Of course he didn't read the article. Or if he did, he's just being inflammatory Bug. He just missed you and wanted you to talk, probably.

Now, I don't think you need to paint with such a wide brush the entire Coachella community as people who misinterpret Burning Man or people that don't appreciate and enjoy the kickdowns from the BM artists. Let's not be that way. I think there's a lot of crossover.

It's actually possible, that there are companies who both make money and do good things.

the above comment is true. im just curious as to which companies are just in it for a good vibe. they must not last very long without making money.

This is the most retarded thing I've ever heard. they don't exist for "good vibes", of course every company needs to make money to survive, but if you can't comprehend the idea of people working to something other than make money, well... I guess I just shouldn't be shocked at all at your inability to comprehend things.

The plain fact of the matter is that renewable energy and permaculture is by and large not economically efficient, especially not at the individual level. It's not where the money is to be made. Many of the engineers and businessmen running these companies could be making many times more money doing something else. People pour money into these types of companies to help keep them afloat. BM is trying to give them a boost by exposing them to people who actually give a shit.

Your biggest gift to mankind would be to get your testicles caught in a combine.

Oh things are just peachy here, thanks much. I think the universe would collapse upon itself if you ever once had any clue at all what you were talking about. you are everything awful and wrong with the world.

On your next cutting session please finally remember to slice lengthwise, not across.

7 - TAKE CARE OF THE FURNITURE.
Please use the end tables and coasters for your drinks. No one wants to sit in the wet spot! Additionally, we need to ask that if you are not dressed, please place a towel between your bottom and our cushion. Thanks. Please pick up after yourselves.Take a moment to throw away empty cups and plates. This is YOUR club.
