kevin shields has been quoted in many interviews over the years as saying there'd be a new MBV album "within a year." there was a report on pitchfork a couple years ago about a collection of rarities (all of them are available already if you dig a little) and another collection of live recordings being released in 2007 or 2008.

i take it all with a grain of salt, but still hold out a little bit of hope i guess.

I will fly to Dublin to see MBV. If this is real, of course. I will go anywhere.

if they play Coachella, i hope they play first.
Kevin Shields is notorious for soundchecks that last well over 4 hours. so if they play first, they can soundcheck before anybody shows up, thus sparing us the pain of standing in the desert sun, watching kevin turn the knobs on all his pedals and amps for hours.

At Coachella the bands soundcheck before the festival starts. I was waiting to get in and I could hear Jesus and Mary Chain playing Reverence.
