Is that a solid confirm? Seems like that's just them stating coachella, and it could be an assumption.

I would like to think that even a small local paper such as that confirms things before writing about them. The city of Indio actually has a "Special Events" department which would make it a very simple thing to do.

Wow, they just announce it earlier and earlier each year.

If these are the true dates, which I don't doubt, heads up you ticket price whiners: Start saving up now! A couple bucks a day and you'll be good in no time. Out of state travelers, better make that like 5 or 10 bucks a day.

what are you some kind of foreigner? don't do it people. don't listen to her.

A real, red-blooded, true American will just max out his/her credit cards, rather than "saving up". Fiscal responsibility is a venal, dangerous concept that is the work of people who hate America.

Also, the hotels apparently know the dates already, too. The Hampton Inn in Palm Desert wants $299 per night. that's gotta be at least double the normal rate there.

The Fairfield Inn, while nothing fancy, is a very reasonable hotel at a reasonable price. I highly recommend it.

Fairfield Inn (Marriott) is about the same quality of service/room as Hampton Inn (Hilton).

Fairfield Inn is showing $179 vs. Hampton Inn's $299.

wtf?

Yeah, that's what I thought too, which is why I was surprised to see the $299 price tag. I forget the street name, but the street that Fairfield is off of makes it so easy to get to Coachella. Take that road for like 7-8 miles or so (little to no traffic each day), make a right and go for a mile or so, then take that clusterfuck left by the grocery store, followed by the right into the Polo Fields. Pretty simple.

nor does it force you to but the newset sneakers, cell phone, ringtone, rims, truck etc, etc. but people do that and then complain that there arent enough gov. programs to help them out, cause theyre poor. but they look good in their new clothes, and thats what matters.

Set times didn't come out last year until a few days before Coachella so I don't think we'll be seeing those anytime soon.

I've also been trying to figure out at least a couple of official bands that will be there but with no luck.

i always go motel 6, no need for luxury when you are spending most of your time at the show anyways, kinda like vegas. i may even try and rv it next year and just park it in the artist lot, have to check with my contact and see if that is an option.

I was going back and forth with hotel vs camping...I hotelled it in 2006 and hated the cheap disgusting place we had. I was going to hotel it at hampton inn 2007, but couldn't deal with the $600 bill. So i camped. Hated the shower scene, but other than that it was really conveinant. I think I'll camp again.

So..if i go alone i get 7x7...if i have my g/f with me, do we get 14x14 or just 14x7? I can't remember how these two girls next to us had a huge tent plus a great canopy to sit under.

leo01g
07-10-2007, 06:15 PM
14 x 7 me and my friend had this. But they dont really check how many spaces you have so i guess you can take an extra.

menikmati
07-10-2007, 06:17 PM
by thursday night, the camping staff is so sick of telling everybody the rules, they just say fuck it and start letting people set up whatever tents, as long as they're inside the fire lines.

captncrzy
07-10-2007, 06:22 PM
I just can't do the camping thing; I know it's more economical and there are showers and bathrooms and a bar and stuff. I just need the AC. I'm sick of the goddamn heat by the end of the night and just want to lay in a nice cold room. Plus, I'm old. I need sleep.

garrett222

captncrzy..i hear ya big time..but 600 bucks is sooooo much money...and the traffic each day...

captncrzy
07-10-2007, 07:05 PM
$600 is a lot; I couldn't afford it. Mine's $90/night and I'm splitting it with someone so i guess it's just not as big of a hit for me.

For some reason last year, we got killer parking spaces and traffic just wasn't a problem; by the time we got to our car, we cruised right out.

Trassin
07-10-2007, 07:09 PM

Yeah, they mentioned checking our shoes, they also said the real problem was the rattle snakes, they had been having problems with those recently. Sort of just added to the adventrure of the whole thing though.

I then checked what seems to be perceived wisdom that the weekend will be the 25th-27th and my heart sank. I'm meant to be DJing a wedding on the 26th, so I guess I'm gonna miss The Smiths MBV, Thom and the boys and Talking Heads after all.
