I've noticed a lot of people bad mouthing pitchfork in a few threads on this board. I've always used it and it's served its purpose, but lately i havent been to interested in what they've brough to the table. can anyone give me some links to some sites superior to pitchfork?

Pitchfork is the musical equivalent to the oracle in the Matrix movies. Sometimes they state complete bullshit, but they can also serve as a guide pointing you in the correct direction.

I like media matters. http://mediamatters.com

Hmm scratch that, that's not the right link. I'm assuming they still exist but I can't find it. Anyone know what i'm talking about?

I prefer Drowned In Sound. The layout is similar to Pitchfork, but it's a lot less up it's own arse. (But probably a bit too Britcentric for most of you)

Hal, please take off the avatar, you're ruining the intrigue of the Daft Punk live act coming up.

why is daft punk the only act in the history of the world where people give a fuck about spoilers

that's easy... At Coachella '06 we had no idea whatsoever what they were going to do, and it added to the experience. Mostly it's to keep some of that feeling of surprise.

Try http://www.trouserpress.com for a good print source with a really extensive library of reviews or http://www.woxy.com for the best online radio station around.

I have a theory Trick is schizophrenic. Half his responses pissed me off to no end. The other half (like now), he's a frickin' genius. Perfect!

Stereogum is horrible, half them time they're the last people to cath on to something and the other half of the time they're pretending to be TMZ.

By the way, I like Playlouder - but it's very Brit.

Also Brooklyn Vegan is decent

not so much a news site, but a good and decent resource for browsing
through various artist summary write-ups, samples of various selected
tracks, amongst other things is www.epitonic.com though it is not always
up to date.

This was very confusing because of alpharuin's HAL9000 avatar.

Radio Free Silverlake covers the best of the Los Angeles local music. It's a great place to find some great bands.
