How about you explain a little more so we know why the fuck any of the dozens of programs that can open the file aren't working for you?

Or, better yet, search google for the error you're getting.

Google, meet some douchebag. Oh, you're already acquainted?

not getting an error dumbass. if you gonna help it will be appreciated if not fuck off. douche nozzle.

so here it is.

anyone working on vista knows many programs arent compatible. so OST is not giving me an error, it just wont let me set it as the default tiff. viewer. i need something that opens tiff files quickly, so that i can view them. dont need to edit them. im trying irfanview but it gets pixelated so its hard to see whats going on. ms paint views the file full size. i need it to default to window size, easy to zoom features and such. nothing major. most important thing is speed.

what else do you need to know?

I don't use Vista, no one should yet. So you're telling me that if you go into the properties of one of this .tiff files and change the default opening program to MSPaint it won't open it with MSPaint by default?

Right-click a .tiff file, click Properties, click Open With, click Browse, browse to C:\windows\system32, select Paint.exe, hit OK.

All easily obtained through Google, putz.

thank you for your replies. i did NOT say MSpaint wont let me set it as the default viewer. i said OST WONT LET ME SET "IT" AS THE DEFAULT VIEWER!!! OST=on screen takeoff. not mspaint. ost uses an XP patch to work, but it wont let me set it as the default viewer. so i have to open the program, go to open file, select all files then choose the one i want to open. since speed is a requirement, thats not cutting it.

what i said about mspaint was that it opens the file full size, when your opening a 30"X42" size piece of paper on a 15-20" screen that poses a problem. so to deal with changing it to a size i can use, and considering the the zoom options, again time becomes an issue.

DORKFISH- thank you, ive tried that one though, doesnt work well for me either. the way you access the files takes too much time. the files i need to open arent always in the same folder, if i remember correctly picasa is more of a picture viewer. thanks though.

So what happens when you follow my same instructions replacing the On Screen Takeoff executable with the paint executable?

Also, be more clear, dipshit. Not all of us hired geeks work with pretty pictures--some of us just fix shit, whatever it is, for assholes like yourself who don't know how to fucking explain what's going wrong.

If you set OST as the default opening program, what the fuck happens? WHY can't you set it as the default? THESE are the important questions.

Fucking end-users...

ost uses an XP patch to work, but it wont let me set it as the default viewer. .

LGM. when you read....slow down and re-read again. maybe, just maybe what you read will sink in. i quoted and will repeat.

OST uses an XP patch to run on Vista. It is not completely compatible. some of the issues apparently are that you cannot set it as the default viewer. did you not comprehend that. i cant spell it out any better, i mean this is text your reading. what other conclusion can you make of that. obviously thats one of the problems. your more of a technician in whatever you do than a troubleshooter arent you?

Chump don't want the help, chump don't get the help.

Answer the fucking questions as asked or get fucked. Or reload your machine with XP, as only a fucking idiot uses a Microsoft OS before the first Service Pack.
