True or not, it still doesn't erase the reality of your blatant pandering and whorishness just for a pair of shoes. I may lose my pride and dignity by this, but at least I won't have jeopardized my moral integrity.

did you buy your ticket yet? (http://sanfrancisco.tribe.net/event/Cunts-for-Fags/san-francisco-ca/0c23eabe-e942-4862-9b4e-2567a63bedbb)

Mob bait. I'm not taking it. Please define for me, if you would, the difference between what you term "blatant pandering" and simply appealing to the judge's sensibilities. This is a contest. As stated. I thought we all understood the rules here. Those shoes are MAGICAL to me and so I want to win them. I want to WIN.

Also, who are you to second guess my intentions here? What I wrote was heartfelt and sincere. I meant it, kid. Moral integrity? How dare you? At least I won't be exposing my johnson to rednecks in polyester pantsuits. Will you be sporting wood, do you think? Or does familiarity breed contempt?

You're trying to woo him knowing his expressed interest in Where the Wild Things Are. Why, I'll bet you don't even own one copy of it. I have it in at least three different sizes, yet did I pull that out to suck the weiner of the judge?

No, I did not. I want those shoes more than I want to breathe air, bitch, but I'm not going to be the crown jester to do it. How can you look at yourself in the mirror after that sad display, man?

And no one's getting a look at my johnson. It'll be safely sheathed in sock or mitten or thimble, depending on circumstances.

Today give the shoes away.

corbo
06-19-2007, 03:33 PM
ok time for my entry. give the shoes to me. why?
well.. i am traveling to El Salvador this december.
once in El Salvador i will find the most impoverished
little village (not hard to do since theyre in every corner)
i will walk into the village shoes on hand and round up every
barefoot boy (or girl) that wishes to compete for the shoes.
i will tell them the shoes were once worn by michael jackson.
the competition i still have to workout.
i will probably just launch the shoes into the air and command them to
fight for them. the winner of the contest will get the shoes.
the shoes will most likely bring about much ridicule to the person
wearing them...and they may even cost them their lives
(there are gangs a plenty over there in much need of cool shoes).
but THINK for the few days that person wears the shoes
they would have TRULY lived! thinking
"WOW, i am walking in the shoes that Michael Jackson once wore"

now...do you really want to deprive that kid of that happiness
and give the shoes to some priviliged little cracker?

you think about that Pot.

Clarky, if you understood anything about anything, you would quickly realize that the shoes and I are not only heterosexual but also extremely good looking as well. So were we to go to a gay bar, every dude in the place would inevitably hit on us and buy us drinks and treat us lavishly. Then I could bring back the photographic evidence of us living in the lap of luxury, albeit for only a few short hours. I would think that a picture of fifty half-naked guys doing the Macarena in order to impress Pot’s shoes would be worth a thousand words. A thousand of them.

Also, that was an Electric Six lyric. This guy’s a real moron. He doesn’t even understand veiled references to pop culture.

Chapter 2

One afternoon, strangely familiar figures appear on the balcony
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i269/mountmccabe/Coachella/Shoes/c79fa4b7.jpg

They are slightly bewildered but there can be no doubt, the loafers have returned! What miracle is this?

But look! There!
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i269/mountmccabe/Coachella/Shoes/6f22f9c3.jpg

Could it be!? YES! The legendary Fluevog wingtips have incarnated themselves!

http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i269/mountmccabe/Coachella/Shoes/8c5502f1.jpg

They are given a heroes welcome
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i269/mountmccabe/Coachella/Shoes/bf26b0f9.jpg
and are not required to sully themselves by touching the dirty cement on their trip inside.

Despite going along with the crowd in lying prostrate before the wingtips (or, perhaps because of the perceived indignity of being directly trod upon) the green Vans are skeptical
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i269/mountmccabe/Coachella/Shoes/9556bc67.jpg
but the Fluevog wingtips do indeed match the icons of old and all is well.

Many have heard of the prophesied arrival of the Fluevogs and a great multitude gathered to hear the tales

(http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i269/mountmccabe/Coachella/Shoes/38ccd74d.jpg) (click on the pic for higher resolution)
The masses were deeply moved by the stunning oration.

The Fluevog wingtips were an inspiration to all!

Loafers with laces? can that be possible?

OED says yes; I say no.

3. a. Usu. pl. The proprietary name of a shoe for wearing on informal occasions.

Loafers with laces? can that be possible?

Those shoes are named "Loafers." And I'll submit to the judgement of others with more experience in these matters with regards to what kind of shoes they actually are.

Can't say it surprises me that there is some question, Loafers have always been a bit off; even before the suicide.

Also I am glad people have enjoyed the continuing exploits of my shoes.

how does the OED define 'emo'?

Emo is there with usenet newsgroup etymology dating back to 1993, but doesn't have a definition. They do have a definition for emo-core:

emo-core, n.

orig. and chiefly U.S.

Show pronunciation* Show etymology* Hide quotations* Show date charts*

A style of popular music originating in the United States in the mid 1980s, derived from hardcore punk music and characterized by emotional, usually introspective lyrics. Also: the subculture or style associated with this music.

1992 Fugazi's Members' Old Bands & Crap in alt.music.alternative (Usenet newsgroup) 12 May, This is such a wonderful band--one of the originators of the ‘emo-core’ sound. Brendan was rumored to break into tears on stage as he sang. 1995 Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch 15 June D13/2 Original emocore bands..played raucously loud music but its vocalists were man enough to shed a tear on stage. 2003 No Depression May-June 119/2 A crashing affair called ‘Stay True’..sounds a little like early emo-core.

But this isn't about emo.

I can't recall. Not frequently, at any rate. I mostly only wear a jersey to a festival, when out to watch football at a bar or a in person, when participating in various sports, when I can't find anything else clean.

I bet he did at Coachella 06.

OED is just quoting what somebody said on usenet. That left me stunned, I must say. I am not at all sayin' it's bad but wow. When'll they start quoting this board?

Also it's a surprisingly confusing excerpt as well. It is more than rumoured that Brendan was the drummer while Guy and Ian sang.

Also feel free to search back through the other threads for me going further on this but Guy (and Brendan) was in Rites of Spring and Ian was in Embrace and those were the first of the Emo bands. Fugazi was different than those original bands but there are similarities and furthermore they inspired a lot of the next style of emo (bands such as Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas is the Reason.)

Modern Chris Carrabba-style emo that you probably know better would be third wave.
